Woodworking Table Top Joinery
My question is about the joinery which to me was not done properly.
Woodworking table top joinery. The wood joiner has a base cabinet made of steel which places the surface of the table at a comfortable distance above your floor. Connect a blank breadboard component no joinery just a plank to the end of the table top. The motor on the other hand is already mounted within the cabinets vase and you can convert it if you want to use 230V power.
The table top was made up of 84 walnut which was about 12 inches wide. Even a 132 gap between the boards is too much. The width of the table was probably 5 feet being made up of 5 separate planks.
You can throw proper joinery for the tabletop out of the window for a rough-hewn table if you like. Copy the completed joinery on the right side of the top and move the copy to the left end. The length was about 10 feet long with the interior walnut being about 8 feet long grain running lengthwise. Saw a 38-deep dado 1 in from each end of the strip then use a 158 spacer to reposition the fence and cut the next set. The amount of pressure needed to force a gap together is how much pressure there will be trying to pull the joint apart afterwards.

Right click on the selected copy and choose Flip Along the red axis. They are a very strong joint as it creates a lot of surface area. Table top clips is a good way to achieve this.
